About Us
How Al-Falah began
Al-Falah was founded in 2024 by Dr Fuwad Abdallah Muhamed Alnahdi and his wife, Dr Durra Said Sherman. They set out to support orphaned and needy boys through two things that change a child’s life: dependable daily care and a good education. The school is in Kikambala, a coastal community north of Mombasa. Here, boys board at the school, where they are fed, cared for and taught – combining primary education with Qur’an learning and the wider teachings of Islam. The name Al-Falah speaks of success and true well-being, and the school’s motto – “Success in Knowledge” – sums up its belief that knowledge, of this world and of faith, opens the way to a good life.

Academic learning and Islamic education, side by side
Al-Falah combines primary education under the Kenyan Competency-Based Education curriculum with a comprehensive Islamic education: Madrasa studies (Ta’lim), Arabic, and Qur’an reading and memorisation (Tahfidh) with Tajweed.
Both strands run concurrently, so that each boy grows in knowledge, faith and good character together.
